Here are a few geek-esque notes of interest I'd like to quickly touch upon with my own self important, yet under appreciated, viewpoints......

• Although they were supposed to announce who the new James Bond would be by the end of this summer, the folks at Eon productions continue to slow down the franchise more and more by dragging their feet with the whole film series. Admittedly, I've been VERY critical of them, especially after letting go of Pierce Brosnan from the film role that he saved. There is one, very small, pin hole sized ray of light through this whole James Bond debacle. Seems as though one of the actors in the running is Goran Visnijic (from ER). He seems to be the only "name" actor where people actually have a clue who he is among those up for the role. But, he's merely in the running and there are other, lesser known folks up against him. Will the folks at Eon flub this decision up also? Hafta wait and see.
  
• Prior to being a big fan of fully, open-ended, action video/RPG games, I was a big fan of what are called "Survival Horror" games. These are games that focus on not only action, but a bit of stratagem also. You needed to conserve the health and weapons you find and know when it is time for flight, or when it is time for flight. The "Resident Evil" series are the most famous games that are under the "Survival Horror" genre. But, my favorite was a game called "Silent Hill". This series has 3 or 4 games under it's belt already, though I've only had a chance to play the first on the old PS1. It scared the frell outta me. I think (other than Doom 3) it has been the only game that made me jump out of my seat while playing it. And it was dripping with a very disturbing dose of Lovecraftian horror. Well, I recently found out that Hollywood is making a movie based on the game and it's supposedly going to star one of my favorite actors, Sean Bean ("GoldenEye", "Lord of the Rings"). So I'm hoping it will have a really kick-A script and not be another "videogame to film cruddy script". Let's cross our fingers.
• Hollywood is making a sequel to a really underrated vampire film, "Underworld"! It's called, "Underworld: Evolutions". Nobody said the title was going to be seeped in originality. But anything with Kate "I'm more beautiful than God" Beckinsale and vampires at war has got to be a boatload of geekosity! Lookin' forward to that one! (Just found a picture of Beckinsale in full vampire garb shooting a crossbow and made it my wallpaper for the ol' PC. Welcome, Mr. Zangz, to the Beckinsale Pleasure Dome. Wooo Hooo)
