More Ramblings....

Not much to talk about in the world of geekdom or my personal world for that matter. Just a couple of notes to hit....

  • Spent Saturday dog sitting...again. But, it was a lot of fun as I was over at my sister and bro-in-law's sitting their dog. It's always a mini vacation whenever I spend time over their dog sitting as they have a boat-load more cable channels (G4, anyone? Tina Wood, Morgan Webb, Laura Foy and the rest of the incredible gamer girls on G4, anyone? ) and a very nice backyard patio to sit on and enjoy the comforts of a nice fat-assed cigar. Good times, good times.
  • I forgot to mention this back when Bruce Campbell was in town. Although there's absolutely no plans for an "Evil Dead 4", he is working on some pre-production work on a yet to be titled movie project that will have him playing himself in a town of his home state, Oregon, gets infested with zombies. People of the town mistake him for his character of Ash (from the Evil Dead flicks) and expect him to save the day. Thus, hilarity ensues! Sounds pretty frellin' cool to me!!! I don't know when this is set to come out, but they may be shooting it soon.
  • The next Harry Potter movie ("Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire") looks to be getting a PG-13 rating rather than the usual PG this time around. Seems as the books get darker so will the movies. Perhaps once they hit No. 7 we'll be seeing some NC-17 action, huh?
  • The new season of one of my favorite shows, "24" starts this coming January ('06), yet star, Keiffer Sutherland, has yet to sign on for the 5th season. What's up with that? Anyway they're adding a few new characters to the show this season. Rumor has it that kick-A ex-president, President Palmer, will not be in this season. Bummer.
  • Though I'll be forced to slow down this coming Halloween, some of the local haunted houses are already setting up and making their plans for this season's scares. Even HauntedWisconsin.com is starting to update.
Last, but in no means least, here's another episode of.....

WEBSITE OF THE MOMENT:

Jeff Russell's Starship Dimensions
Really, this is quite the undertaking. What Mr. Russell has done is taken beautiful graphic articulations of many of the starship that we see in the Sci-Fi movies and TV shows and compared them against on another in both size and look. This may sound boring to those not into the Sci-Fi scene, but it's really quite well done. He has measurements of the sizes of these ships in comparison to our own airplanes and huge buildings (Sears Tower, Eiffel Tower). It's quite visually stunning as his artistry is quite impressive.

That's all for today.

Zangz.
